Often described as "magical realism meets MTV" the work of Francesca Lia Block has altered the landscape of Young Adult literature. Her most famous work is collected in Dangerous Angels, which follows the love and life of an unconventional cast of characters.

Criticised for her descriptions of alternative lifestyles Block has never been one to shirk the difficult issues facing contemporary teenagers. Her work is among my favorite for Young Adults. I hope you will enjoy it too! Please let me know what you think, once you have read it.

A delight! A gift from my friend. It's a young adult book...I read it once, then reread parts of it much later. I considered using part for a monologue class, but never found a cut that I felt did Block justice. VERY "southern california."
I plan to pass it on to a friend soon...
