wow, a Gaiman I don't know yet! looks like short stories ...
A bunch of bloodthirsty, betraying tricksters, these Norse gods, especially Loki and irate Thor. But of course they are not unlike mankind.
Gaiman kind of rewrote parts of the Edda - and this book looks to me like a by-product of American Gods (which is a most fantastic book, btw).
