I found this softcover in this Little Free Library in Peterborough NH while dropping off some books of my own. It's a novel about Andrew Jackson and his marriage to his beloved Rachel - whose death, shortly after his election to the presidency, may have changed the course of history... But the novel focuses on their lives up to that point, a touching romance in the face of harsh events and public scandal...The novel inspired a 1953 film.
