1 journaler for this copy...
I found this vintage paperback in this Little Free Library in Manchester NH while dropping off some books of my own, and nabbed it for another release copy.
I first stumbled across Bradbury some time in junior high, I think, and promptly read every short story of his that I could find. [I preferred stories to novels then.] Since The Martian Chronicles was a novel composed of loosely connected short stories, it not only got my attention but introduced me to a different style of story-telling.
While our hopes for space travel have changed a good deal since the book was written, its accounts of wanderlust, greed, hope, fear, and prejudice are still as true as ever. Some of the tales are little horror stories, others humorous, most bittersweet - and all worth reading!
The book inspired a fairly good 1980 mini-series.
[The TV Tropes page for the book is quite entertaining, but do beware of spoilers if you haven't already read the book.]
