I heard Selvadurai read from one of these stories (it was the one about the game he used to play with his sisters -- "Bride Bride", in which his sisters dressed him up as the bride). It was sweet, and side-splittingly funny, and I've always meant to read the book. Shortlisted for the Giller Prize (Canada) in 1994, it's on my TBR pile.

I'm passing this book on to my Mom, who was here the other day looking for something good to read. She may not journal it, but I'll ask her to pass it on to someone else when she's finished. Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

This book came home to me tonight, following a visit of several months with my Mom (who decided she didn't want to read it, after all). So -- it's back on my AVL shelf!
