Bought this at a library used book sale. It was an amazing story of a stuffed china rabbit who learns about the world and love through a series of tough disasters.

Couldn't resist this one since I loved the others by this author that I have read, especially The Tale of Desperaux.

I grabbed this off the shelf because I needed a middle grade book for one of my challenges. This was the closest thing I had that I could locate easily.

I read the blurb on the back from Katherine Patterson about how she cared about what happened to this arrogant china rabbit. In the first half of the book, I agreed with the part about him being arrogant but I didn't care about what happened to him. I knew that this book would not get to me. Of course, that is just about the point in the story where everything changed. And as Edward began to feel love he became lovable. And when he hurt, I hurt, and I cried. And I cared what happened to him and I saw the simple magic of what love can do for arrogant china rabbits and for people who read about them.
