trade-size paperback.
from the back cover:
Eleanor Flood knows she's a mess. But today she will tackle the little things. She will shower and get dressed. She will play with her son, Timby. She will initiate sex with her husband, Joe. But then life happens, and Eleanor's modest plan gets derailed.
Today, it turns out, is the day Timby has decided to play sick to weasel his way into his mother's company. It's also the day Eleanor discovers that Joe's been telling his receptionist - and not his wife - that he's on vacation. When an encounter with a former colleague produces a relic from the past that threatens to expose a family secret, Eleanor comes completely undone.
Not as quirky as Where'd You Go, Bernadette, but I'd still recommend this. A lot of fun and unpredictable.

Lovely book. I really liked it.
Initially I thought it might be fey. But I found that not only is it hilarious—with wonderful turns of phrase and uses of words, situations—it also has serious underpinnings.
