The Future of Humanity

I got this softcover at Barnes and Noble. It's a speculation into how we might construct a sustainable settlement in outer space, whether on another planet, in a generation ship, or in some other form. The author gives lots of nods to science fiction for visionary ideas that - in some cases - might be technologically possible with enough time and effort. Robots, starships, extended-life technologies, and many more topics are discussed and analyzed here - though not always to a degree that made me believe they could work out. But it makes for some fascinating thought-experiments, and who knows what might come to pass?
I'm adding this to the Science and Technology bookbox, which will be on its way again soon. Hope someone enjoys the book!
This book returned with the Science & Technology Bookbox.
Any books I do not keep to read will continue their journey via another BCer, LFL, or distributed at a book festival.
Thanks for sending this book along and participating in the Science & Technology Bookbox!
Right up my alley!

It took me a while to read this one but I really enjoyed it. GoryDetails sums it up really well.
I am curious about how far quantum computers have jumped since this book was written in 2017. There is a SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company) with the ticker symbol DMYI that is bringing the company IonQ to public trading. IonQ is a quantum computing company. It's not the only one, there are several competitors. But it doesn't look to be fully realized. I'll have to do a little research and find out where things stand. :)

Book had safely landed, thanks Spatial. I also got a kick out of the hell banknotes 😆 I'll take them along on my next trip to Taiwan as 🤞 I won't be needing them here.
