Picked up from a new Little Free Library in Aurora Hills on the corner of 18th St. S. and S. Ives St. Arlington, VA. I don't think this is currently a registered LFL, but could be wrong.

Description:
This hilarious book confronts every aspect of a flight attendant's absurd world--from the endless array of passenger demands, to the secret language of flight attendants, and a unique version of the Safety Demo Shuffle. Fasten your seatbelt and prepare yourself for a side-splitting perspective on the trials and tribulations of air travel.

I can't resist a book about travel, particularly with a humorous edge to it. I kept hoping ResQgeek would take it home and spare me the temptation. He didn't, so it came home with me.

Well, I wouldn't call it "side-splitting" or "hilarious" the way the the blurbs did. Amusing, yes. Familiar, definitely. Sarcastic for sure. Even informative. I definitely knew that the life of a flight attendant is a thankless one. And I have been appalled at the behavior of my fellow humans on airplanes. I didn't realize all of the job politics and demands they had to deal with. I will try to be a more responsible and respectful traveler in the future.

I have paid for admission to the 2020 BC convention in Gold Coast Australia. This book is on the wishlist of one of the organizers, so I will set it aside

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

This little book has waited a long time for this trip. I find its title quite apt given all the delays that were involved in getting it on its way. It was meant to go in the suitcase by plane and be handed over in person. When the world shut down, I tried mailing it but they told me it would be at least $75 US to do so. I went on a cruise in January which was scheduled to stop in the Bahamas and I thought I might be able to mail it from there because it is a Commonwealth country. But the country shut down and the cruise was redirected, so the book and I came home together. Now, however, decently priced (although still pricey) mail service to Australia has resumed and I have posted the book today.

Oh my goodness! Imagine my shock when I opened my mailbox this morning to see inside a returned package that was very familiar. I mean, I mailed this to Australia in October 2022 and it apparently has gone around the world and back again -- no word on the mood of the book regarding the long and fruitless journey and time spent with postal workers on what appears to be 2 separate continents.

I intend to send a private message to Awaywithfairies about this book, but I am not sure what to do with it beyond that. Probably will take it to the next meet-up.
