this book continues that shounen mix of violence, comedy, and heart from the first volume but amps everything up, esp. the violent side. the nature of the relationship between the two male protagonists becomes more explicit, which i hadn't really been expecting, but i guess it's par for the course in a story about demon cannibalism? anyway, the loyalty and strong emotional ties between the characters were effective and this volume ends with a bit of a cliffhanger. looking forward to how the series ends!
