My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Finally finished reading it - fairly detailed account of cosmic rays, gets into any number of subatomic elementary particles, the nature of their discovery. Much too advanced for first-time encounters with the subject, but upon finishing, I did enjoy going back through the book and reviewing things.

Finally ready to start another round of the Biographies of Things book box, which means I have to realize that I never catalogued the ones that were in the box when it returned to me. This one is good for another round.

I'm claiming this one from the latest round of the Biographies of Things bookbox.

Later: Between my non-fiction reading and my science-fiction, I've come across tidbits about cosmic rays in many different contexts, and I appreciated this thorough look at the topic - from the first discoveries to some physics-heavy bits that reminded me of my college years (when I realized that I was not going to be any good at physics {wry grin}) and on to more recent studies.
