The Juggler's Children
2 journalers for this copy...
There wouldn't be more than 3 books on my virtual bookshelf that are in the science category, but this is one of the most intriguing books I have ever read, and since so many people (my mother, my cousin) are on Ancestry these days, I decided I wanted to read it (again) & this time, keep a copy. From the cover: "Abraham's book is riveting not just because of its superb writing and suspenseful storyline, but because, in the end, it's not just about her, it's about us." - The Globe & Mail
Thanks for this book, Bookgirrl. Do you want it back? I have wanted to read this one for quite some time so thanks again.
It's OK to Bookcross it. If I ever feel a need to get another copy, for sure there will be paperbacks out there for $2 - $3. Enjoy!
I enjoyed this book so much! I am not on ancestry.com or any of those sites but many years ago, long before the age of the internet, I tried to trace my own family tree on my father's side, inspired by a cousin on my mother's side who had done her own extensive research into that side of our family. She produced a wonderful family tree *map* and though I had great intentions, I started but never followed through.
I love the hard work the author has done in her very complicated background of family and was totally caught up in her story (stories!). She also is a terrific writer and has a real knack for the turn of phrase that I loved. Published as it was in 2013, I wish there was an update, to see if she has made any further progress in the ensuing 8 years or so!
I will see if another cousin of mine is interested and if not, I will place the book in a LFL or bring it to our next (hopefully, in person!) meetup. Thanks for this one, Bookgirrl!

VERY pleased that you enjoyed it too, Jessibud!
Left in a LFL in Leaside.
