More Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops

A Christmas present from a bookish friend!:)
Customer (holding up a book): What’s this? The Secret Garden? Well, it’s not so secret now, is it, since they bloody well wrote a book about it!
Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops was a Sunday Times bestseller, and could be found displayed on bookshop counters up and down the country. The response to the book from booksellers all over the world has been one of heartfelt agreement: it would appear that customers are saying bizarre things all over the place - from asking for books with photographs of Jesus in them, to hunting for the best horse owner’s manual that has a detailed chapter on unicorns.
Customer: I had such a crush on Captain Hook when I was younger. Do you think this means I have unresolved issues?
More Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops has yet more tales from the antiquarian bookshop where Jen Campbell works, and includes a selection of ‘Weird Things...’ sent in from other booksellers across the world. The book is illustrated by the BAFTA winning Brothers McLeod.

I loved reading these anecdotes from booksellers!
The book is now on its way to Finland, as part of the European wishlist tag. Bon Voyage, little book!
If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. I would love it if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it.

The Book has arrived, thank you so much! I loved the previous weird things, so I know I will love this as well. Will add my favourites here as I proceed...
Finished. My favourite was the story about a male customer in a bookshop in Hamburg, Germany. The sign asked customers to ring a bell if the bookseller wasn't at the till. He rang, and the female bookseller came out from the back room. The customer said:
"Wow. Just like in a brothel!"
We also keep a bell on the front desk, perhaps I should remove it to avoid confusion...
Finland was mentioned as Iida Henriksson from Suomalainen Kirjakauppa had sent a story where the customer asked:
"Excuse me, but where do you keep all your books?"
"They're all around you."
"Oh. Right. I see."
To me that tells that nowadays there are so much other stuff in bookshops apart from books that sometimes the books are left in the shadows.

What a gem, wonderfully hilarious and also horrifying comments! This made me laugh more than the previously read Fingerpori comic album. So perfect for a book person. It is hard to believe that all the comments were real, so appalling they were.
Many thanks for this book, it will now seek new readers in Tampere.
P.S. participation in Alejanda’s Suomi mainittu challenge, Suomalainen kirjakauppa mentioned on page 71.

This gem found a new reader at the meet-up!
Picked up the book at the local meetup today. Looks like a hilarious read!
There some funny stories and then some not so funny stories, there were a couple that made me laugh and some that I just couldn't believe could have been true. A little entertaining book, just suitable when you need some light reading.
