I love these Rita Mae Brown mysteries! A new resident has moved to Crozet, VA. Because no one knew much about him, Blair Bainbridge becomes the #1 suspect in a murder investigation. Harry and (her tiger cat) Mrs. Murphy and (Corgi)Tee Tucker must conduct their investigation to uncover the truth.

I believe this is the second in the series, though the first I've read & I really enjoyed it. The mystery in this book is a good one and it will keep you guessing until the end. It was a quick, fun read.

Journal Entry 7 by FranciJo from Waco, Texas USA on Friday, August 26, 2005
This is the first Mrs. Murphy mystery I've read, and I did enjoy it. The only thing that bothered me was the language. I'm not normally bothered by off-colored language, but it seemed so entirely out of place here. I understand when it adds to the development of the character, but having owned cats my entire life, I believe they would think it beneath them to call someone a "f**kface." My cats would have come up with something far more creative! But thankfully, the language cleaned itself up quickly and the rest of the book was tons of fun! I can't wait to find out what happens to Harry and the animals next!
