The protagonist, a young man named Clay, is an out of work web designer who responds on a whim to a help wanted sign in the front window of the eponymous bookshop. He quickly realises that this is no ordinary bookstore and, with the help of a couple of friends, sets out to determine the secrets behind the tall bookshelves.
