Eleanor Oliphant has learned how to survive - but not how to live

Eleanor Oliphant leads a simple life. She wears the same clothes to work every day, eats the same meal deal for lunch every day and buys the same two bottles of vodka to drink every weekend.

Eleanor Oliphant is happy. Nothing is missing from her carefully timetabled life. Except, sometimes, everything.

One simple act of kindness is about to shatter the walls Eleanor has built around herself. Now she must learn how to navigate the world that everyone else seems to take for granted - while searching for the courage to face the dark corners she's avoided all her life.

Change can be good. Change can be bad. But surely any change is better than... fine?

Thank you sooooo much for this lovely surprise. I have heard so much about this book but haven't read it yet so it's just wonderful that you sent it to me. It has also been chosen as a bookclub read for next year by one of the group! I'll let you know how it goes.

I loved this book, ukcanaus. It was funny, moving, poignant and utterly delightful. It's my favourite book this year!! I did not want it to end and now I am already missing the characters .... sigh! We haven't had our bookclub meeting yet. It's next week. We've been pondering what to do about our meeting what with the current Covid19 Virus situation and restrictions on group meetings that are in place. We might have a virtual meet-up via Skype, next week if all goes well. I know everyone loved the book too as we've been in touch via text and yes, it's a favourite!!!! Thank you once again for sending it to me. Big hug! xxxx
