Thriller set in the 1950s.
Federal marshal Teddy Daniels and his partner are sent to investigate an escape from an island hospital for the criminally insane. Meanwhile, a major storm is brewing. Teddy begins to suspect that the hospital staff is selecting patients for secret psychological experiments.
Not great literature, and there are some anachronisms. The listener misses some things that a reader would take in. Still, an enjoyable book.
Audiobook on CD. 9 1/2 hours. Read by Tom Stechschulte. Most of the women's voices sound alike, but other than that, the reader does an excellent job of dramatizing the story.

I left this audiobook as swag in the geocache called Ammo Can Marshy in Rice Marsh Lake.
I am giving this book away as part of two release challenges at Bookcrossing: Movie Books; and Never Judge a Book by Its Cover (this week the theme is movie tie-ins).
