Well . . . it’s finished. I’m not 100% sure how I feel about it. The story was fascinating and also way over the top but in the end, I think the ending is what made me decide so-so. I can’t quite put into words why the ending left me feeling just meh but that’s what I felt. Definitely an interesting read all in all tho.

Later: Very creepy book indeed, a mix of dark magic, eerie Library, strange and vicious vengeance - and quirky humor tucked in among the mayhem. In some ways it reminded me of the Gormenghast books, where people lived in a vast and twisted old castle with loads of secrets, and with everyone bound by so many traditions and rituals that there was no room to breathe...
