Seventeen year-old Pinkie, gang member and would-be gang leader, has to show that he can act without remorse. His murder of a jouranlist sows the seeds of his own destruction. For me the film isn't as good as the book, Richard Attenborough plays a mean baddie, but nowhere near as powerfully as the character was originally written by Greene.

Thanks so much to Steve (Netstation) for sending me this book! My winter vacations are almost here and I'll have time to read this novel, which seems very interesting to me since I read a review.
