This is Going to Hurt

“Welcome to the life of a junior doctor! 97 hour weeks. Life and death decisions. A constant tsunami of bodily fluids. And the hospital car park earns more thank you do”.
This book took me back to a time when I worked as non-clinical staff in the NHS. I remember all of the the HOs & SHOs I used to work for, and their daily challenge of juggling emergencies, the on-call bleep, over-running clinics, long hours, complex cases and the often bizarre incidents that brought patients to clinic and theatre.
The author Adam Kay describes similar stories in an honest, funny and endearing way.
