I got this softcover at a local Savers thrift shop. It's a collection of fantasy/SF stories in a variety of styles and settings, from the title story's wild-West to far-flung galaxies. Among my favorites:

"Cup and Table," a riff on the Arthurian Holy-Grail-quest concept, with quite a kicker.

"In a Glass Casket," where a modern-day youth stumbles across a Snow-White-style glass casket, only to find that the relationship between the woman inside and the person who imprisoned her is not only more toxic but more familiar than he expected.

"Terrible Ones" features the Furies from ancient Greece, now a bit long in the tooth and residing in a kinky neighborhood in San Francisco - and it works surprisingly well {wry grin}.

"Living with the Harpy" is just what the title says, turning the behaviors of a harpy into a roommate-from-hell situation - with fraught romantic complications as well.

"Impossible Dreams" has a lonely film-buff stumbling into a Little Video Store That Wasn't There, where he finds films that simply don't exist in his world; a fun twist on dimensional doors, fandom, and romance.

"Dream Engine" is a trans-worlds mystery/adventure story in which the narrator, an ephemeral being who is bound to a shapeshifter being as its jailer/companion; they have to exercise considerable imagination to fend off a dangerous killer who's apparently manifesting from his own dreams.

The author's notes at the end of the book are enjoyable too, and are nicely tucked away so as to avoid spoilers.
