TUMBLEWEED

A bit dated, but for me that's part of the attraction. The 1970's Amsterdam portrayed in this book brings back memories of traveling Europe on a railpass, and Amsterdam was one of the most interesting places I saw. This book also includes a side trip to Curaçao.
The plot is ok, not the best of the several books by this author that I've read. But it's a quick read and I love the way Gripstra and deGier bicker but still work so well together.

Amazon:
Maria van Buren, a beautiful, high-class prostitute, is found dead with a knife in her back in her houseboat on an Amsterdam canal. Grijpstra and de Gier must solve the murder. Her tony clients all have sound alibis. Before the murderer is caught, the detectives and their commissaris will investigate allegations of black magic, travel to Curacao, and pursue clues to a chilly island off the coast of Holland.

Pleasant to read.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This title was laying on a wishlist.
Thank you, Passeur-X, for this generous RABCK! The timing is perfect. I will be travelling to The Netherlands very soon to attend my daughter's Master's thesis defense. I've never read a mystery set there before and am looking forward to bringing this book along.
As mentioned in my last post, I'd brought this book to the Netherlands with me and I'd read it while in Amsterdam where it is partly set. It was an enjoyable mystery, even though it felt a little dated, and I would be happy to read more books in this series. Thanks again, Passeur-X, for sharing this book with me.
Definitely a dated book but a good mystery nonetheless.
