Book burble: How do you know the taste of true love?
From mini-break to break-up…

Nell and Ange have their whole lives mapped out with their fiancés, brothers Marcus and Justin. But when a trip to Prague goes pear-shaped, the plane brings them back down to earth with a bump. Desperate for a change of direction, Nell sacks off her job and her sorry excuse for a boyfriend, and sets off to see her much-loved Aunt in Cornwall with Ange in tow. The girls soon settle into village life – Nell opening up her own cake shop and Ange pulling pints (and men) as a buxom barmaid. But not everything in this quaint seaside town is quite what it seems...

A bittersweet recipe of hilarity, heartbreak and romance – irresistible!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Heartwarmingly pleasant confection whisked up by a capable hand. Could have done with a bit more character depth and I could have done without this on the back cover “But not everything in this quaint seaside town is quite what it seems...” Because this is set in Cornwall the idea of a noteworthy mystery topic leads to thoughts of a pivotal plot point being smuggling ‘woo-hoo’! However… when the surprise plot point arrives it’s not really what one expects and anyway it’s an incidental issue so a little disappointing for me. There's certainly no ‘Jamaica Inn’ type mystery nor level of tension.

BITTERSWEET by SARAH MONK is to be left somewhere ‘in-the-wild’ in Edinburgh on Sunday 21st April which is INTERNATIONAL BOOKCROSSING DAY 2019. You might have found this book beside an outdoor sculpture; on a window sill; at a bus-stop or perhaps you as a happy reader were handed this directly while you were in Central Edinburgh!!!
