The Blue Bistro

I've already read this book, but bought another copy of it to re-read it before an upcoming trip to Nantucket.
This was my original review from Dec 2010:
This is the first book I've read by this author, so I wasn't sure what to expect. A Bookcrossing friend of mine loaned it to me, and assured me it would be perfect for my upcoming beach trip. How right she was!!
The author weaved an interesting story, with a perfect mix of just the right number of characters, each character being well-developed and intriguing. I really enjoyed reading about life on Nantucket, as well as the restaurant life -- which I admittedly don't know much about. I always love books that tell a good story, yet I learn something, as well.
I was also pleased with the way the book ended. Normally, I like a book to end with all the loose ends tied up, and even though that wasn't entirely the case here, it was good enough that I turned the final page feeling satisfied.
I will definitely seek out more books by this author!!

I don't think I loved this book the second time as much as I did the first time, but it was still very good. I think I actually like the aspects related to how a restaurant runs more than the "love story" in the novel. I just never really got into the love story - maybe because I didn't think the two were a good match, or maybe because their 'bizarre love triangle' irritated me. I still love books by this author in that Nantucket itself seems like one of the cast of characters. I'm looking forward to finally seeing the island in person over Labor Day weekend :)
