Bridget Jones's Diary

I loved this book. I hadn't read it before but picked it up at a book sale for $.50 and definitely got my money's worth. If you've only seen the movie, you'll find that it doesn't quite match up with the book, but when does Hollywood follow the book?

Thanks for sharing this book with me, GraceTX! I'm looking forward to reading it.
I was hoping that I would like this book - it's very popular - but unfortunately, it's just not the genre for me. Oh well. Thanks very much for sharing this book with me. I'll pass it on to someone who will (hopefully) enjoy it more.

~saturday 11 february
10:05 pm. just finished and cannot remember laughing so much at a book since Christopher Moore's Lamb. surely Bridget is just exceptionally neurotic? no. she is more like me than i can admit. although she has maybe a different lifestyle, her emotions are so similar to mine (and yes, a few other people i know!) and as much as she tried to change herself and become someone different, someone ended up liking her because of who she really was. how romantic and cutesy and ironic and all that. but real. (excepting Julio and all that business.)
funny, but the more i read, the less i pictured Renee Zellweger. thanks catwoman for sharing this. The Edge of Reason has been waiting here since november and am glad the first has finally been recovered from the depths of TBR pit. realizing am risking bookring participants' extreme irritation by not passing on already, but can't let it go just now!
will leave this on the shelf in my OBCZ to see if anyone else would like to read it. favorite book of 2006 (v.g.)!
