Force of Nature

A well written and enjoyable book, but not as good as the authors first book The Dry. I think the author was just trying a bit to hard on this one
This is part of a bookray so I do not require it back, please keep no longer than four weeks, If you need to keep it a little longer let me know

Book is safely with me. Sorry for late JE.
I was seriously disappointed by this book which is not a patch on the author's first novel in my opinion.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Hope to get this to the PO and on its way to greenbadger today.
It's arrived, thank you! I've just started reading The Dry, will get to this soon.
Five women are sent out into the bush on a company team building exercise. Only four of them return. The missing woman is Alice Russell, key witness in a case being put together by policeman Aaron Falk. Alice wasn't popular, and Falk uncovers tensions within the group, as well as a possible link to a mass murderer in the area. It's a tense and gripping read, a worthy sequel to The Dry.

Journal Entry 13 by penelopewanders at Hasliberg, Bern / Berne Switzerland on Thursday, September 19, 2019
This is here as a bookcrossing ring, and it is the second by this author. I already greatly appreciated the first (The Dry), and although quite different, this did not disappoint. The story unrolls by flashing to and fro between the present and the past - or specifically the days directly related to the disappearance of one of the characters. The blank canvas gradually gathers dots which become lines, but up until the end there are some surprises as to how those blanks fill in. I find Harper details her characters well, and I enjoy Aaron Falk's character as well. I liked the scene where he's describing his father's characters and his colleague Carmen is raising her eyebrows at him, so to speak... A good read. I see the author has written a third book, although not connected to these. To be continued..
I believe this heads to Germany next - it may wait about ten days so it can be sent from France (much less expensive..) I hope that's all right. Thanks so much for making this available and for sending.

Journal Entry 14 by penelopewanders at Beaune-la-Rolande, Centre France on Saturday, October 26, 2019
After an embarrassingly long wait, this is finally travelling to Berlin. It was meant to go to France and be sent from here early October, but somehow didn‘t make it into the bag that went into the car. Now it made the trip and is off again. For the time being (pourvu que ça dure!) there is still a wonderful book rate for sending from France. At some point I decided to just go ahead and post something I had from Switzerland and paid about five times what I paid this morning for three separate parcels, four books in all! So I apologize for the delays, but my budget pushes me to wait when I can.
Meanwhile, thank you so much for making this book available, I really enjoyed it.

The book is on its way to the next reader. Enjoy!
Arrived safely in Gauting.
Looking forward to reading this one since I really enjoyed "The Dry".

First of all I am truly sorry that I kept the book for such a long time. I honestly couldn't remember when I registered it and now I saw - December!
So sorry for that. But now I already have Jotka's address and the book is on its way.
Having said that - I really enjoyed reading this second book by Jane Harper. I loved "The Dry" and I can remember that I couldn't take a shower for more than five minutes for quite a while after reading it :-)
This one here is definitely wetter, but gripping as well. I like the way she tells the story with the time-line changing from chapter to chapter until the end when they merge together. Otherwise one can't tell much without spoiling.
Just - I do like Aaron Falk a lot!
On its way to Jotka!
