On a cool June morning, a woman is walking her dog in the idyllic coastal village of Salten, along a tidal estuary known as the Reach. Before she can stop him, the dog charges into the water to retrieve what first appears to be a wayward stick, but to her horror, turns out to be something much more sinister…
The next morning, three women in and around London—Fatima, Thea, and Isa—receive the text they had always hoped would never come, from the fourth in their formerly inseparable clique, Kate, that says only, “I need you.”
The four girls were best friends at Salten, a second-rate boarding school set near the cliffs of the English Channel. Each different in their own way, the four became inseparable and were notorious for playing the Lying Game, telling lies at every turn to both fellow boarders and faculty. But their little game had consequences, and as the four converge in present-day Salten, they realize their shared past was not as safely buried as they had once hoped…

This book was good but it won’t be one of my favorites for the year. It was fast paced, the writing was good, there were plenty of twists and turns but I didn’t love any of the characters. Not they were bad or poorly developed, but none of them had richness or depth either. Overall, a good book but not a great one.

Sent as part of the wishlist Tag Game.
Just received this in the mail today, thanks so much.
I really liked this book best of all her books that I have read. It hooked me from the beginning and was hard for me to put down. I didn't really ever come up with the whole truth, although you could guess at the ending. Just goes to show the horrible effects that a lie can have on someone's life, possibly forever. Wish I had read it a little sooner.
I really enjoyed this book, it was hard to put down. I just wish I had read it sooner, so far this is my favorite of the books of hers that I have read.
Here is another from your list.
Thank you for tagging me with another wishlist book. I am looking forward to reading this book. I have heard good things about this one. Happy Dance!
Wow! I really enjoyed this story. Four girls that meet in school, form a bond, create a game involving lying. Better the lie, more points you earn. Don’t forget about that as you read the story. Twists and turns to the end. Loved it!
