A beautiful book about a family dealing with a mental health disorder. Honest and moving, and it doesn't have a "fake" ending with a "happily ever after", just an honest one.
Controlled release at local Calgary meetup.

Picked this up at the October meetup.
Brought back to the Oct. 2024 Book Crossing Meeting.
This book has a story that stays with you. It's an unflinching memoir of a man trying to provide support to his wife with a major mental illness while navigating the medical system and figuring out their new normal.

I wasn't sure if I should read this, with my son battling depression, but decided to give it a try. It was an audio book from the library. I felt a kinship with some of their struggles and at other times, so thankful that my son wasn't battling those demons! I felt like it was a pretty honest book about the many facets of mental illness and how you cope with it (not all was good and not all bad). You just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
I am taking this to the November meetup.
Caught this book at the Calgary BookCrossers meeting Nov.2, 2024, at Nove Nine Diner.
