May 26, 2007 - while waiting to get my textbooks, I will be reading this and send the book to new homes.
May 27 - from the back of the book From the never-before-published journals of Sherlock Holmes' companion and chronicler, Dr. John Watson: a tale of nefarious doings that nearly brought down London's wealthiest woman - and made its most famous sleuth Scotland Yard's most wanted.
This website explains why the author has published the work. Arthur Conan Doyle created Sherlock Holmes-the world's first consulting detective in 1887. At one point in his career Doyle got so tired of his famous character that he actually killed him off. But such was the outcry that he found a way to resurrect Holmes. Even Doyle's passing was not enough to bring the great detective's career to an end. No character in all of literature has been the subject of so many homages, parodies & pastiches.
