Journal Entry 1 by JessicaEby from Cambridge, Ontario Canada on Monday, March 18, 2019
I picked this book up tonight in my neighbouring city of Kitchener, ON. It came from a book exchange shelf at a games cafe my husband and I like, The Adventurers' Guild.

I like princess stories, and while I myself am not Irish, I have married into an Irish family, so I thought this book seemed like it could be interesting. It seems to be a day of myths and legends for me as I bought two books of myths at a charity shop earlier (one Greek myths and one First Nations myths). It's also funny that I happened to pick it up on St. Patrick's Day, since it's Irish! I'm unclear if this is a traditional story or just a new one set a long time ago... but it sort of fits in anyway. I am adding it to my TBR pile for right now!

After reading this book and doing a little research, I think this is not so much a myth/legend as it is historical fiction that's set a really long time ago (in the early 1000s). It was a quick read-- I both started and finished within the same day-- and it wasn't a bad little book, all in all.

I feel like I might have gotten more out of this book if I knew more about the history of the Vikings in Ireland/about Irish society at that time, and I thought the ending was a little sad in a way... but like I said, not a bad little book. I think it definitely could have done with another going over by the editor's red pen though, I noticed a lot of little errors in this one!

I am not sure just yet what I am going to do with this book. It will keep moving, one way or another, and I would think most likely by Wild Release, but we'll see. I really have no set plans for it at the moment.

Journal Entry 3 by JessicaEby at Viking Bakery in Simcoe, Ontario Canada on Sunday, June 23, 2019

Released 4 yrs ago (6/23/2019 UTC) at Viking Bakery in Simcoe, Ontario Canada

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I've noticed this business while passing through Simcoe, but never had the chance to stop in. It turns out the bakery is not open on Sundays, and I am in Simcoe almost exclusively on Sundays, so today I left this book outside while passing by, anyway. Hopefully I will get to check the bakery out sometime (if I'm ever in town on a day other than Sunday!), but for now I left this book in a protective bag, propped against the front window on the left side of the door.

If you've found this book, thanks for picking it up and checking out its journal! If you're new to bookcrossing, welcome. We'd love it if you'd stick around with us a while. I really hope that you enjoy both this book and the whole bookcrossing experience!

This book was released as part of the 2019 "52 Towns in 52 Weeks" Release Challenge. Simcoe was Town #29 for me this year! This book was also released as part of the Snap Release Game here on bookcrossing.
