Bikes Not Rockets

This was a short story collection that I spotted on the shelf at Buffalo Street Books and decided to grab based on the fun concept and the fact that I've enjoyed books from this small press before. I wasn't disappointed. My favorite stories were:
"Accident" by Gretchin Lair is a dark look at a future with even more controlled reproductive rights, but one in which community support is still strong, and it ends on a hopeful note.
"Leaving" by Monique Cuillerier is the first story in the book, and a strong start. It features a world in which humans are moving off-planet due to a lack of resources, and the culture clash of those who want to move on and the who want to stay on their home planet.
"Generations" by Osahon Ize-Iyamu is another take on humanity's move to space, but also a retelling of unfortunately common tales of immigrant hardship and the lengths a woman will go to for her children's sake.
