Mrs. Sherlock Holmes

This book is about a really amazing lady who lived in New York during the early days of the twentieth century. She was a lawyer, a detective and a bane to many in the police department.
There are, unfortunately some errors in this book which is a disappointment to me because I would assume that the editors working for St. Martin Griffin would have caught them prior to publication. These errors only frustrate the reader who may be familiar with some of the events described in this otherwise fascinating book.
The book does illustrate the status of women in that period of history and the courage of people like Grace Humiston (the title character of this book) in coming to the aid of girls and women who were victims of abuse. This is a must read book.
