I accidentally ended up with two copies of this volume of Saga, which means this copy will travel on to find a new reader.

Saga is honestly one of the best comic series I've ever read. Not only is Fiona Staples' art magnificent, and Vaughan's writing snappy and engaging, but the whole project has a wonderful cohesiveness that I rarely see in a storytelling format with some notable limitations. This universe walks a perfect line between being wildly different from ours and not striking too frequently at your ability to accept it as possible. It features a diverse cast of alien races and genders, who, as in all the best social sci-fi, are truly reflections of our own planet's range.

This particular volume is a mostly-self-contained storyline, that could probably be read by someone who was not aware of the details of the circumstances that set up this current conflict. Our main characters have landed on a comet to try and refuel, and their awkward extended family gets caught in a local war.

Added to the Feminism/Girl Power bookbox, since this series has lots of wonderful women characters.
