I bought this when it came out; there must have been some incredible reviews for me to buy a hardback by an unfamiliar author! I wasn't enthralled by it at the time, but kept it so must have felt that a re-read was in order. Well, I finally got around to it again and it still didn't pull me in. The story is interesting, but it just isn't clicking with me - I can't really say why. I will keep this for the next round of the "Books I've Read' VBB.

This is a wonderfully loving, miracle-filled book with the perfect ending. I really enjoyed the Christian elements within this story. This book is a testament to the power of family bonds told through the eyes of 11- year-old Reuben.
