This book was given to me via some Dutch bookcrossers, because it was on the Mainz pile. I couldn't get to Mainz, because my grandmother died just before that.
Thank you mimi4711 for taking this with you. I was just thinking about this classic and I really want to read it. My friend works in Germany every week so she might be able to release it there some day. Or maybe I take it somewhere else.

Well... what do you know... While reading this book my great-grandmother, the mother of my grandmother, died too. She was 95 years old. She was at peace with her death and I'm sure she's happy to meet her late husband and her two children in heaven.
Not to make this a sad journal entry. I know this book is thought-provoking, but I was really looking for a book to enjoy and I didn't really enjoy this one. So there's that, it's not the book, it's me. It was scary though. It made me think about a conversation I had with a friend where your phone can listen to your conversations and then suggest products according to that conversation, or the fact they're developing a corona-app in my country which can follow your every move and warn you when you're in contact with people who've had corona. For health reasons I'd use this app, but what about privacy and stigma?! It's definitely a sliding scale.
