Wow! I thought it was going to be fiction, but alas, no. It's a very readable book about a particular thread of history, in which the US -it always has to be them- research onto alternative methods of winning wars. The book starts extremely goofy, but from my point of view it becomes gloomier and darker, more cruel, as we reached the end. My deepest sympathies go to Eric, the trouble teenager who won't accept that "he jumped out of a window" is not a reasonable answer for the death of his father, especially when there were more people in the room. I do agree with Jon and Eric that it's a disgrace how journalists and mass media in general treat these cases, always looking for the "sentimental angle", making up stuff as they go, caring one fig about the real people left behind.
