A Day in the Life of a BookCrosser
20 journalers for this copy...
I've had this lovely hardcover journal for several years now. Unfortunately it is somewhat structured and I'm a "stick everything you can in and write backwards, forwards, sideways, and upsidedown" sort of person so you can see how this was a problem. I've found a wonderful solution though: a BookCrossing Journal!
Basically, on each page the front is all these fill in the blank kind of questions (ex. In the news today... or Something that made me smile today...) and then the back is just blank so you can write notes, doodle, make lists, write poems, collage things, compose a symphony (I don't actually know anyone who could, but if you're that talented, please, feel free ;-P), etc... bascially whatever you want (hopefully it will be sort of related to your day, hence the title, but if it's not, no big deal).
So I'm going to start a bookring and everyone who receives the book will fill in the stuff on the front and then do whatever they want on the back and eventually we'll kind of have an idea of the stuff that makes up the day of a Bookcrosser. I'm not sure how to set it up so the people at the top of the list get to read more than just a few entries. If anyone has any ideas I'd welcome suggestions...
Ok, on to post this in the forums...

Here's the list for the bookring, and I think I'll probably end up sending the journal around twice so everyone can see as many entries as possible. If you would prefer not to receive it a second time let me know and I'll post a separate, second time around, list.

Journal Entry 4 by MaraJade from Perth City, Western Australia Australia on Tuesday, August 10, 2004
It's finally here! I was getting worried about it because it was taking so long but it's here and it's fine! I will send it on to the next person very soon.
Journal Entry 5 by MaraJade from Perth City, Western Australia Australia on Saturday, August 21, 2004
I've done my two pages. I've sent the journal to Readinator today.
Marajade sent me this journal as part of the 'A Day in the Life of a Bookcrosser' journal. Unfortunately it ended up on a shelf, and I forgot I had it for a time. Anyway, I have *finally* filled in my pages and am moving it on today.
Thanks Zarylia for allowing me to be part of this, and I'm very sorry to have held up proceedings by 1. not journalling it and then 2. taking so long to act upon it.
Hope the journal has an interesting journey!

Received over the weekend - when I was at a very exciting Writer's conference, so I will use Sunday as one of my days.
Should have the book out again next week.

This was great fun.
My writing changed dramatically in the two days, reflecting my state of mind I guess.
Fascinating to see what was on the minds of others at the time.
Sending on this week.

Mailed out today to the next person on the list, after adding my info. I thought about it so many times, but I guess it only works if you have a pen in your hand and the book in front of you!
Thanks for including me in this book's journey!

Have not been able to get a response from Breezygirl67 after PMing her twice for her address, so I'm PMing the next person today.
Just wanted to let everybody know that I am not intentionally hanging on to this journal! I PMd Breezygirl67 for her address twice and got no response, and then the same with Kinia2, so today I have PMd kdhnow!
Yay, I'm finally able to send this journal on! kdhnow never responded to my PMs for her address, so I finally got Buzzgirl's address. I have a few other books waiting for me to go to the post office so I should get this out today or tomorrow.
... got it yesterday july 19, 2005. the new harry potter book came in the mail too!! (had preordered!) Hooray!! so i'll get to the journal soon, and send it along. it's quite fascinating, reading what everyone's written so far. i am reminded how similiar we all are. sobering, considering the state of our world.
Just arrived today. I'm going to wait til Sunday to add my comments as that's my lazy, hang around the house with a pot of tea and lots of books day so I can devote some quality time to it. I've skimmed through some of the entries and feel as if I will get to know a little piece of all of you by the time I'm through.
Added my page today :) This was such a wonderful idea.
The bookcrosser "seekmyface" is no longer in the database, so I'm not sure what to do next. I'll do a forum search to see if s/he has changed user names...do any of you know who this person is?
November 16 - UPDATE
Ok, found out that seekmyface is actually now Beloved49. PM'd her but she is no longer interested, so I'll pm the next person!
November 24 - UPDATE
The next person hasn't responded to my pm after a week and In-My-World has a message on her bookshelf saying she is no longer using the site, so I'll keep going to the next one - pm'ing quizgirl today.
November 26 - UPDATE
Success at last!!! On its way to quizgirl via a bookcrosser courier in December. She will still get it faster this way than me sending it surface mail during the Christmas rush.

cestmoi actually sent it to me, b/c i finally checked my email. i'll send it on to quizgirl soon.
it's possible that i'm the worst bookcrosser EVER, as i received this journal more than two weeks ago, and kept forgetting to sign in that i had it. but i understand that bookcrossers are kind and benevolent people, and i'm sure you will indulge me. it's been very interesting reading everyone's entries.

Received yesterday. As I signed up almost two years ago for this I'll make my entry right away and get it off to the next participant. Zarylia must be aching to read all the brilliant entries in her journal.

I must sincerely apologise to all participants for not forwarding this book. I have no excuse, merely my usual habit of procrastination.
It is now on its way to Scarlett17.

I'd forgotten all about this book, and had moved house since I was asked for an address for it, so it was a real surprise. Since I've moved 200 miles to a new area, I intend to write about two days of me exploring my new surroundings!
Delighted to receive this great journal today. I am so looking forward to reading it and contributing myself.
A wonderful, life-enhancing project. Many many thanks to Zarylia and all who have helped it on its journey.
I have read the first entry and am wondering what I was doing then, on 21st April 2004!

In the mail to stubee in Manchester. This really is a great project!
Arrived today, I'm really looking forward to reading the journals and then adding mine once I've come to the end. You never know I may not be in England when I write my entry.
Journal Entry 33 by stubee from Bury, Greater Manchester United Kingdom on Wednesday, April 18, 2007
You may have all though this has been LOST but fear not I found this in a box after a clear out at my house, sorry I've had it so long. I remember reading quite a lot of the entries and found it fascinating, although I hadn't got round to making an entry myself.
Scrawler and WintersQT4ever have replied to say they're not interested in taking this so I've just PM'd abs who will hopefully want to take it. Once I get an address I’ll make an entry and send it on its way.
EDIT 19.04.07 - Abs has also decided to pass on this so I'm at a bit of a loss, I'm PMing Zarylia to find out what she'd like me to do.

Wrote an entry in the journal on 18/06/2019 and posted to dolph1n yesterday lunchtime.
Can't wait to see this go around the world again and then hopefully back to me (full) so I can read your entries.

This was behind the door when I came home. I've cut the grass and now the kettle is on. The rest of the afternoon will be spent reading it.

This is on its way to the next person.
This actually arrived safely through my letterbox several days ago but it looks as if it didn't work when I registered it. I have written in it (which was fun) and will post it when I next go to the post office xx
This came back to me from historybee2020 but as I missed the post office before I left, I've posted this from Oban on the first day of my Scottish holidays. Hope you enjoy reading and journaling in it xx
This has arrived safely with me - I was on holiday for a week so only just delivered to me yesterday. I'll do my journalling and send on to the next person. I'm enjoying reading the previous entries :)
