A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth.

YA fiction is not my usual reading and this is one I gave 50 pages and decided it is not for me. Sending on to an interested reader.

A workmate of mine raved about this so I grabbed it from the BC Christmas meetup.

A workmate of mine had read and enjoyed this book, although it's been a while since they read it, and I don't remember if they told me enough about it for me to have any expectations. I found the story was compelling, and didn't guess the ending. I thought the perspective from Cady of her Mum's generation was interesting. The author did an excellent job of capturing the spirit of the teen years.

One of those books where when you get to the ending, you have to go back and re-read certain passages now that you've got a whole new perspective on things. great recommendation, Discoverylover!
