A fun collection of stories via a contest to write the best/bad story Austen ever wrote--some are set in the Regency time, other present day, and a few are mashups. Nice bit of fun, very short/flash stories.

I grabbed this book during today's BookCrossing Meetup at Panera Bread in Cambridge MA, unable to resist the concept of an anthology inspired by Austen!

Later: Not quite as much fun as I'd hoped, but there were some entertaining entries here. Since the premise was to write the WORST stories, perhaps it's not surprising that some of them didn't really come off {wry grin}. Some made me laugh, including the VERY punny ending to "Farthingale Junction"; also "An Unexpected Guest", which featured a stranger from a Big Blue Box with a "ridiculous cravat". And "The Perilous Plot at Pemberley" featured a mashup with, of all things, "Scooby Doo".

Other mashups mixed characters from different Austen novels, such as the amusing "Regency Matchmaking", where Mrs. Bennett manages to match Caroline Bingley with Captain Tilney from "Northanger Abbey" - and then moves on to introducing a Mr. Willoughby to Kitty and Mary...

I left this book in the Little Free Library; hope someone enjoys it!
