Clever book, both myself, mum and friend enjoyed the twists in the book. Having been a fan of Sophie McKenzie’s children and young adult books was very intrigued by this, her second adult book and it did not disappoint! Keeping for Daffodil-2 when we meet soon.

REVIEW;-"I managed to get to the end of this book but it was a struggle at times. I felt there were a few too many characters, sub-plots and red herrings. Also I can't believe that anyone would name their agency Honey Hearts and expect to be taken seriously. The final scenes were a little far-fetched too so I may not be in a rush to read more by this author."

I already have books travelling in many countries around the world-a list can be found on my bookcrossing profile.

When re-releasing this book please be aware that airports are not a good place to leave books unless they have a specific book exchange shelf or area, due to security problems, so they may well just be disposed of. Also charity shops may well discard books that have been labelled in any way and they mostly chose only the books in the very best condition
to place on their shelves and discard the rest-so another bad release option.

This has just been donated to the Oxfam on Magdalen Street. I sort the books and will liberate it. I'm supposed to be pricing the antiquarian ones, but I'm actually leaving this journal entry.

Everyone was panic-buying and I was jealous and thought I’d have a panic-read instead. I didn’t want to be stuck in the house with something nasty and be in the middle of heavy non-fiction. I didn’t get ill, but I did enjoy this book.

It strikes me that the main theme is the past. I liked its being in the present tense so there’s a real sense of immediacy as I hurtled towards a confrontation you know must come.

Not without flaws. I found the inserts from the killer’s diary unconvincing. And it wasn't so much the name of the detective agency that I found unbelievable, but that ridiculous scene where it turns out they keeps their clients’ personal details just laying about for anyone to read.

What I think really makes the book work is how normal and unexceptional the narrator is. You might say dull, but it’s that grounding in a suburban mind that let me make allowances for anything far-fetched.

I managed to guess the killer, but there are plenty of good red-herrings along the way.
