The Vor Game

I love Lois McMaster Bujold. If you are at all interested in science fiction, and haven't read her stuff, check her out immediately!
This is the either the second book in the Vorkosigan series or the forth book, depending how you count. Either way, it comes after The Warrior's Apprentice. (It would be the fourth book if you count the two books about Miles's parents, Shards of Honor and Barrayar as part of the same series; second if you count those two books as a seperate series in the same universe. You should read Warrior's Apprentice before you read the Vor Game, but you don't need to read the other two books first; it will make sense without them.)
I love Miles Vorkosigan; he's one of my all-time favorite fictional characters. He's crazily intelligent and witty as hell; so are these books, as well. All the Vorkosigan books, besides being intelligent, thought-provoking, and well-written, exude a sense of honor and compassion that I, as a reader, find very compelling.
Enough generalities! The Vor Game in particular is an excellent book! It has an intricate, smart plot that all comes together seamlessly at the end, and it is told with wit and style.
Bottom line: Read it immediately!

Yay! I've been looking for another book in this series to read. I've only read the first book (when Miles is born) and I'm curious about where this story will go. Though it looks like I need to track down Warrior's Apprentice before I start this one...
I grabbed this book out of a traveling sci-fi book box. Fun!

I loved reading The Vor Game! I didn't have the opportunity to track down The Warrior's Apprentice to read first, but that made it no less enjoyable. Though I did find myself wondering about various events mentioned in The Vor Game that I think happened in The Warrior's Apprentice. So I look forward to finding a copy of that to read too!
