So this was rather a strange book. Which may not be a total surprise, as memories of an Indian childhood are probably strange for me. Quite some time I wondered which religion they have, as god is mentioned quite frequently, but no further hints are found whether they are muslim or christian - well, I looked up the Parsi people, and now I know: they (and the author or her family most probably) are Zoroastrians...
The whole childhood is really totally different from all that is "normal" to me - so it was really interesting. And well written of course.
