How can I possibly resist a book about the noblest profession?
This was a great read. The author really drew you into the lives of the characters, and you felt their happiness, anger and disappointment as they dealt with life. It's probably my favourite of the books I've read by Salley Vickers.
Thanks bookfrogster for sending me this for the Wishlist tag game. I'm looking forward to reading it, and already like it just for the pretend old library card on the inside cover! Thanks also for the excellent pile of books postcard.
I enjoyed the parts about books, the library, how the librarian tried to help the children, and when local people were kind to her, but wasn’t so keen on the romance side of things.
