7-, way too long and too full of typical gothic romance scenes. The plot and the character descriptions were good and I didn't guess the killer until the end of the book. Needless to say, I won't be reading this authors books again.

The following review is from Amazon:

First and foremost - this is NOT a Gothic novel. It is a suspense novel that the author tried to make into a modern Gothic, but it didn't work. That being said, it's not a bad book, but it's also nothing special. The characters are not well developed and don't always act in realistic ways. In true Gothics, societal rules set the stage of lack of communication and misunderstandings. This is a modern novel so there was no reason for the 2 main characters not to talk to each other. It took me a long time to finish the book (which I normally could have read in a day) because I kept getting annoyed with the plot development.

I have certainly, and unfortunately, read worse, but can only give this 3 stars. Maybe the author gets more experience and gives up trying to force a "type" onto the story something would be worth reading. As it stands now, I'm just not interested.
