I took this home from the BCinDC holiday party. I've actually had this on my "Future Mt. TBR" list for a while now. I am so excited to have selected this book as one of my first line picks. Can't wait to read it!
What a perfect book to come to me during my BookCrossing group's first line mystery book selection game this past holiday! I love books, I enjoy watching Dungeons & Dragons, and I'm a computer programmer. This book was the intersection of all three of these things with some interesting characters thrown in for good measure.
This is the story of a designer/web programmer who gets a job working the midnight shift at a bookstore that must be open 24-hours. Why does it need to be open in the middle of the night? Because it's part of a centuries-old mystery that may hold the secret to life itself!
This was definitely a story-driven book, and it was enjoyable reading about all the twists and turns and trying to solve the puzzle along with the mysterious cult followers here. The key to immortality felt so close at hand
