Thank you very much for sending this book, along with several labels and bookmarks.
Enjoy the book and don't forget to journal it so that people have an idea of where it is going :)
I admit that I'm not fond of Christmas at all, but I'm fond of well-written stories and this is one of them. Poignant and didactic it is, but written with wit and humour which I think would have make quite an impression on the era it was published.
I like Charles Dicken's narration style and I enjoyed the plot its self a lot. It's a refreshing book, touching the surreal sometimes (with the appearance of the ghosts and the quirky dialogues and all that) and I had a good time reading it!
Sometimes there are so many other books, film and theater's adaptations, cartoons and so on based on a classic, that the classic book where everything originated from ends up feeling like the one been cliche and contrived rather than the other way around. That's unfair and steels the enjoyment from the reader too! So I think it's important trying to see A Christmas Carol through eyes of someone never having heard of it before.
A very enjoyable, bittersweet and poignant story with a fairy tale-ish quality on it.
Thanks once again for sharing!
