The Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes mystery series by Laurie R. King is very fine and engrossing reading.

Mycroft is involved: re: an English spy named Kimball O'Hara. The same Kimball known to the world through Rudyard Kipling's "Kim".

In addition to the mysteries to be solved in each book, each book could be also included in the historical fiction genre. There is a lot of historical information in these books about the societies, politics and cultures of the world during the early to mid 1900's.

Because of this Laurie King book I read Kiplings "Kim". A fantastic book to add to your must read list.

I took this home from the BCinDC holiday part. Sooo many books in this series were at the meetup, and they kind of interest me, as a fan of Sherlock Holmes. I think I'd like to try one and see if I like it. I'm not so sure I will be able to get my head around Sherlock being married though this one has Mycroft in it, so I'm excited to see how he's written.
