The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb

Mercy Lavinia “Vinnie” Bump may only be two-foot eight-inches tall, but in this novel she stands big and tall, with an indomitable will, pride, bravery, intelligence, a sense of adventure and a dream so big it may put many men to shame.
While her calculating and at times self-serving personality does not make Vinnie the most adorable protagonist, the voice is so honest and sincere, I cannot help liking her and wishing a happy ending for her.

Picked it up at the Convention in Mainz. Thanks for bringing it!
"She was only two feet, eight inches tall, but more than a century later, her legend reaches out to us. As a child, Mercy Lavinia “Vinnie” Warren Bump was encouraged to live a life hidden away from the public. Instead, she reached out to the immortal impresario P. T. Barnum, married the tiny superstar General Tom Thumb in the wedding of the century, and became the world’s most unexpected celebrity."
Very interesting story about, as I discovered to my surprise, a real life VIP. I had never heard of her or her husband before so when I found out this is an (although romanticised) account of a real life, I was even more intrigued. Hard to imagine how strong willed Vinnie must have been to live her life as she did in those times!
Thanks for giving me the chance to read it :-)
