Loving a good cup of coffee runs in the family for Briar Creek library director Lindsey Norris. But when her brother, Jack, a consultant for a coffee company, goes missing, her favorite beverage becomes a key clue in a dangerous mystery.
Between preparing the library for the holidays and juggling the affections of ex-boyfriend, Captain Mike Sullivan, and her new crush, actor Robbie Vine, Lindsey has her hands full. But the mysterious disappearance of her world-traveling playboy brother takes precedence over all.
Afraid that involving the police could brew trouble for Jack, Lindsey takes matters into her own hands. But as her quest for her brother embroils her in a strange case involving South American business dealings and an enigmatic and exotic woman, it’ll take the help of both her library book club—the crafternooners—and her eager-to-please suitors to keep Jack from ending up in hot water…

Traveling to fulfill a wish. Merry Christmas!
The package arrived safely; many thanks! Love the card, tags, and T-shirt - and the book, of course. I've enjoyed several other volumes in this series, which begins with Books Can Be Deceiving, and am delighted to have another one.
Later: This one's quite a romp - and also more dramatic and stressful than some of the other titles in the series, as it introduces Lindsay's dashing brother Jack under very shady circumstances. (I admit I winced at the "don't tell anyone" bits; granted that Lindsay was terrified for her brother, I don't enjoy that particular plot-trope, especially when it isn't clear that it's useful.) The international-man-of-mystery stuff felt a bit off for this series, and while I loved the fact that it was coffee instead of drugs (er, instead of harder drugs? {wry grin}) I do prefer the plots that are focused more... domestically.
I also have some impatience about the whole Sully-vs-Robbie bits; it's true that the guys seem to enjoy riffing on each other as much as they enjoy pursuing Lindsay, but there's some boundary-crossing here that I don't think she should have put up with. Still, some of the encounters are pretty funny, and the guys - as well as Lindsay's trusted "crafternooner" friends - come together with a surprisingly effective plan to foil the bad guys.
Some of my favorite bits in the series are the scenes where people are actually talking about books, something that happens pretty often; quips about the latest book-group selection, etc. The late-in-story scene where the guys invade the meeting - having read the selected title, The Secret Garden! - tickled me.
