Bought on Black Friday, November 23, 2018 at Reed's Books in downtown Birmingham, Alabama USA. A great time to be downtown; it was deserted! All the shoppers were at the suburban shopping centers.

I enjoyed reading this book. It’s small, easily fits in my purse, and short. I’ve read a few other Louis L’Amour westerns and enjoy his style.
This one tells the story of a young man, still in his teens, who is befriended by a gang of outlaws. He leaves the gang but never forgets their kindness to him. He begins to establish a cattle ranch near the town of Rimrock and starts sorting out the townsfolk, their attitudes and motives. Trouble arises, of course, over cattle and over the pretty niece of a local landowner.
